Prof Keyoumars Ashkan
Professor Keyoumars Ashkan Consultant Neurosurgeon

Professor Ashkan is a leading Neurosurgeon at King’s College Hospital, London and one of the handful of Neurosurgeons in the UK to be awarded a Professorship. Uniquely, he has been honoured with both the Clinician of the Year and the Team of the Year Awards.

His main interests are spine disorders including back and neck pain, disc disease and sciatica, carpal tunnel syndrome, brain tumours, and neuromodulation surgery. The latter includes deep brain stimulation, spinal cord stimulation and occipital nerve stimulation for movement disorders, pain, and headaches. He is an authority in image guided minimally invasive and stereotactic surgery for brain tumours including awake craniotomies and brain mapping. He is also one of the very few UK surgeons trained in Gamma and Cyberknife radiosurgery as well as keyhole MRI guided laser surgery (Visualase) for brain tumours.

Dr Hamid Modarres
Dr Hamid Modarres Consultant Neurophysiologist

Dr Hamid Modarres trained at St Thomas’ Hospital, The National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery and The Royal Free Hospital in London. He is a Consultant and Senior Lecturer in Clinical Neurophysiology and Honorary Consultant Neurologist at St George’s Hospital, London and East Surrey Hospital.

Dr Antonia Clarke Paediatric Neurologist

Consultant Paediatric Neurologist at St George’s Hospital, London. Having qualified from University College Dublin in 1985, she did her general paediatric training in Oxford, Great Ormond Street Hospital London, Bristol and Bath. Her sub-specialist training in paediatric neurology was at St George’s Hospital London.

Dr Salah Omer
Dr Salah Omer Consultant Neurologist

Dr Salah Omer is a Consultant Neurologist at St George’s Hospital and Kingston Hospital.He trained in the United Kingdom and has worked as a Consultant Neurologist for 19 years.  He has a wide experience in all areas of neurology, presents in national and international meetings and has contributed widely to neurological literature.

Dr Camilla Blain
Dr Camilla Blain Consultant Neurologist

Dr Blain is a consultant neurologist with a specialist interest in multiple sclerosis.  She has two clinics each week devoted to MS patients, managing their care at all stages of the disease and working closely with the MS clinical nurse specialists.  She is also appointed to the Neurorehabilitation service, responsible for the care of in-patients at Queen Mary Hospital, Roehampton.  She sees general in-patient neurology at St Georges Hospital.

Dr Ali Al-Memar
Dr Ali Al-Memar Consultant Neurologist

Dr Al-Memar is a Consultant Neurologist at New Malden Dignostic Centre. He trained in south-west England iin London hospitals and in the Midlands at the Birmingham Neuroscience Centre.

Dr Elizabeth Galizia
Dr Elizabeth Galizia Consultant Neurologist

Dr Elizabeth Caruana Galizia is a Consultant Neurologist with a specialist interest in Epilepsy and Auto-Immune Encephalitis. Dr Caruana Galizia studied medicine at the University of Malta, where she continued her early medical training before pursuing formal training in Neurology in the UK.

She undertook research at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery and was awarded a PhD in 2017 for her thesis on pharmacogenetics in epilepsy.

She joined the Neurology Department at St George’s Hospital in 2017 as a Consultant Neurologist and research lead for the Epilepsy Group. She is regularly involved in recruiting patients to clinical trials in Epilepsy.

Apart from her experience in Epilepsy and auto-immune encephalitis, Dr Caruana Galizia has a broad range of experience in general neurology; she is a member of the Neuro-Oncology MDT at St George’s hospital.

Dr Caruana Galizia is regularly involved in teaching and has taken over the running of the Epilepsy co-morbidities course at St. George’s University and contributes to the undergraduate student teaching. She is a regular invited speaker for external courses on the subject of Epilepsy.
